Okay, Brad has been taken back to surgery now. We got here at 6:00 and they did all the pre-surgery stuff. When they stuck him with the IV needle, he bled like a stuck pig, but didn't realize it.

The anesthesiologist (Dr. McCloud) came in and told him about the epidural. They put a needle in the upper part of this back and tape it down. All the pain medicine goes through that. But first, his nurse (Anthony) gave him some happy medicine through the IV, so the odds are that he won't remember the epidural.

Dr. McCloud said that the last two or three times he did this operation with Dr. Koury, the patients had no pain in their chest due to the epidural. He said Brad does have to be careful not to pull it out.
