Brad's Home (the Sequel)

He's back home again. Right now, he's asleep and has been for about an hour and a half.

I spent the night last night so we could watch the X Games. It's kinda hard for a fourteen year old to watch that and not want to get out and do something. He took Tylox at 9:30 and again at 2:30 in the morning and that got him through the night.

He had Dr. Koury post DO NOT DISTURB orders on his chart so the nurses wouldn't come in to get his vital signs and all that stuff. They only came in to change out his antibiotics, so we were only disturbed three times instead of the normal seventy-five times.

The ride home was much, much easier and he was feeling pretty good. He started getting sleepy right before we would have given another Tylox, so we just let him go to sleep rather than taking another one.

Thanks to everyone for all the prayers and calls and junk food and good food. Carolyn, I believe I can now contribute to the food drive.

Brad has hatched a plan for two years from now when the bar comes out. He and I will get big 4-stroke dirt bikes and Rhonda will get a four-wheeler so she can carry the sandwiches and ice chest. It's good to have a plan.

What great news! Your family has been in my prayers. I hope you have a terrifically uneventful, boring weekend.

Bruce (and Brad) – you won’t believe how many folks were saying – the last two days, “What’s the latest on Brad??” I am so glad to hear the good news and hope the week-end is going well. By the way, what is a 4-stroke dirt bike?

Hope Brad is doing better. Sorry to hear of all the difficulties. If I can help in anyway feel free to contact me anytime.

Unfortunatly it sounds like you ran into all of the pitfalls of pectus surgery.

I hope to finish my book on preparing a child for pectus surgery soon. Also I am working on a pectus exercise & stretching DVD, and also things to do in the hopstital such as avoiding the urinary and constipation problems.

Again, if I can help in anyway feel free to email or just call. I am in New Jersey.
