The Weekend

Beth had her first fast pitch tournament of her senior year on Saturday (won 2 and lost 2, placing 4th out of eight teams), so Rhonda and Liz (Rhonda's mother) were on their own Saturday. Brad had no fever to speak of and plenty of pain.
Sunday was pretty good. In the hospital, there was a dog with a sweater that said "THERAPY DOG" that visited the rooms on request. Rhonda and I took Brad to the pool and invited his friend Jamie to visit also. Before Jamie arrived, Brad was focused on the pain and how hard it was to do anything. After Jamie arrived, Brad was close to normal. We're going to get Jamie a t-shirt that says "Therapy Boy". Jamie missed church Sunday night, but we reassured his parents that he's doing the Lord's work! Jamie starts school Monday and Brad's school has a half-day Thursday. Let's see how he progresses this week.
It's good that he's not too self-conscious as other people visited the pool, including a guy and his son whom we haven't met. He is a lieutenant colonel with the last name of Major - won't be hard to remember him. The cardiologist who lives in the neighborhood was there with his family and glad to see Brad being active.
Rhonda and I left Jamie, Liz, and Brad at home and went out to Johnstone with the dogs. It was a nice break. On Sunday evening, Jamie's parents (Rita and Ken) came over for a nice visit.
Brad had a Tylox Sunday after lunch (12:45), then 2 Advil at 1:30 and at 9:00. He didn't take another Tylox until he awoke in pain at midnight, and then only took one. This morning, he's in pain, but it's manageable. Temp of 99.1 Sunday.
