Tagged brad : Update

Dr. Koury came by and said everything worked out as expected. The bar is in place and the results look great. He said the case was worse than he expected once he got in there as the hole came to a "peak" that had calcium forming on it (whatever that means). He said that it had to be affecting his heart. If he had any doubts about the need for it (which he didn't), he felt really good once he saw how the chest looked on the inside. He believes that Brad will really feel the difference when he becomes active again. Dr. Koury commented on this muscle development and that he is a really good-looking kid.

Brad took the epidural very well. Apparently he was awake during that time as Dr. Koury said he sat up and took it like a man.

They're trying to get Brad to the pediatric intensive care unit so that one of us can sleep in there. If it's the regular ICU, we'll be in the waiting room. Dr. Koury will come in upstairs and talk to us one more time today.
